Biogas for industry
Biogas is important for Swedish industry for several strong reasons, both economic, environmental and strategic. Large parts of the industrial sector require high energy input, high temperatures and operational reliability. Biogas provides this and can often replace natural gas directly without major technical modifications.
Sasejo’s premium Swedish biogas delivers the highest energy quality while significantly reducing your carbon dioxide emissions. In some cases, the climate impact is close to zero, and in many cases even negative. Sasejo’s biogas portfolio offers products with different levels of carbon footprint, measured as CI score, and we assist you in selecting the right products based on your specific needs and conditions.
Biogas for transport
Biogas is highly suitable for transport due to its climate benefits, system efficiency and proven reliability in everyday use in Sweden, taking into account the country’s large geographical area and challenging climate conditions.
Swedish biogas provides lower and more stable fuel costs, improved cost control and strong overall economics, particularly for heavy duty vehicles.
Sasejo offers Swedish biogas through its own network of filling stations, see more under “Biogas Stations”, and also provides bulk deliveries of biogas to customers’ own facilities.
Through our extensive partner network, we also support customers seeking a dedicated and company specific refueling solution. Together with our partners, Sasejo can design, establish and finance private biogas stations when needed.
Biogas for maritime transport
Biogas offers many strong advantages as a renewable marine fuel and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 to 100 percent compared with fossil fuels. This helps many shipping companies achieve their environmental targets while complying with strict emission regulations in areas such as the Baltic Sea.
There are several technical and operational advantages, as biogas works in existing gas engines. Liquefied biogas, LBG, is chemically almost identical to LNG, which means that the same engines, tanks and infrastructure can be used.
A large share of Sasejo’s biogas producers primarily use manure as a substrate in their production. We can therefore offer substantial volumes of biogas with very low CI scores tailored to the maritime industry.
